LYRICALLY SPEAKING: LISTEN TO YOUR HEART

This post is dedicated to my dearly departed sister, Tiffany Faith Blair, on her birthday today. She was the most selfless, caring, giving, divine feminine creatures to have blessed this earth, and I know she would have loved this one in particular.

This was a song I wrote in my early 20s for another one of my sisters’ fundraisers to build churches and homes in India.

I tweaked the lyrics a bit years later, and dropped the track on my second studio album.

Let’s get into the lyrics:

LISTEN TO YOUR HEART

Is it true what they say?

The road to Heaven is narrow

His love will pierce like an arrow.

Tell me, how will people know the way?

To dive in deep, can’t be shallow.

People are called on every day;

It’s sad that so few will follow.

It makes me wonder: who will go to save the lost?

It makes me wonder: who will go where no one’s crossed?

all along they lived without the knowledge of themselves.
