Please upgrade. My first love for storytelling and writing fiction came from POETRY.I been writing poems since I was bout five years old. Lyrical Poems — poems dat I turn into songs — has been my favourite writing outlet since I was bout 8 years old.It combines my passion for concise storytelling with my love for music. Some are meant to be transposed to SING and others to be RAPPED.Others I made a melody for but are better read n said.April being da National Poetry Month inspired me to gear up and finally drop my first Lyrical Poetry book.Im excited to release LYRICALLY SPEAKING at the end of this month to celebrate n commemorate dis deelishus ART FORM.I figured Id give y’all a taste of what to anticipate with one of my favourite concept pieces I wrote called EYES PART 2.This story was birthed while I was challenging myself to write 5 songs a day based off a concept given to me by my friend Melanie. She said one word: EYES.I replied: What do you mean EYES? Are they looking out or are they being looked at?She laughed and said: Write both.So I wrote Part One (included in the upcoming book) as one who is looking into da eyes of another and telling da story of what they see.Part Two is this song here that depicts a gruesome tale with the concept of the EYES being separate from head, the feet, the hands. In fact all the body parts have their own consciousness in this tale and they have conspired against da eyes for not going with their program. This is how the story goes:If you’re keen to hear me whisperWhisper secrets of my peepersWill you be a promise keeper?I will let you see me deeperMind and mouth are all conspiring For their twisted plot — aspiringMove me this way, that way, tiringStill I fight to share my diary…BANG BANG BANGThere goes another hitBANG BANG BANGBut I was innocentBANG!See the smoking gun — Im da only witnessTry to look away — body growing listlessSee the hand attached to me scratch off da Hitlist Look up to da sky — try to mind my bidnessThen my feet are running — they seem to informed andGot me wondering Just where are we going?See the hand dispose da gun to a random doormanGrab a key, go inside, suspicion growingIm in da elevator A man is next to meMy mind made my mouth silentI look at him and screamIt is a silent howlingThe tears begin to streamHand put shades on to hide it — muting my earnest pleaBANG!I was innocentI could only see But every moment I stay open gets the best of meSo innocentThey wont let me beMy BODY did horrid things but Im not guiltyBANG BANG BANGThere goes another hitBANG BANG BANGBut I was innocentBANG!See the Foot kick the door sharp and violentHands are busy erasing tears — they wipinDoor is open — my mind forces a smile andRecognize every face — I step inside thenMy Head shakes in angerShades are on the groundI tried showing danger to everyone aroundOne Hand pointed at em The Other cant be foundThought control was shifting until I heard da soundBANG!I was innocentI could only see But every moment I stayed open got da best of meSo innocent Now they set me freeGlad before my last breath I saw my familyBANG BANG BANGThere goes another hitBANG BANG BANGBut I was innocentBANG BANG BANG There goes another hitBANG BANG BANGBut I was innocentI was innocent I could only seeBut every moment I stay opened got the best of meSo innocent now they set me freeGlad before my last breath I saw my family.SubscribeSharePreshate y’all for tuning in.
